Nuance And Hijaking Language.

Discernment is not knowing the difference between right and wrong. It is knowing the difference between right and almost right.
— Charles Spurgeon

For a progressive ideology to gain a stronger foothold among the masses, liberal/progressive Christian leaders use Linguistic Theft to deceive. Linguistic theft is taking words once known as one definition and redefining them to suit an agenda. This is nothing new with liberal progressives in the church. They redefine words all of the time. In her book Mama Bear Apologetics, Hillary Morgan Ferrer defines it this way: purposefully hijacking words, changing their definitions, and then using those exact words as tools of propaganda (p. 63).

The mushy middle theologians now use Nuance to find a shaded, clouded way of proclaiming the gospel. Although this word was used differently, now it acts as a red flag when listening to preachers and teachers. Using this word doesn't automatically render a teacher false or avoidable, but they should be researched carefully if they are using this word.

You don’t need weapons to destroy a nation, you only need words. Change the terms and their definitions, and have the culture embrace those new terms and definitions, and you can bring an entire society to its knees. We are seeing this happen right before our eyes. Who needs external enemies like China, North Korea, or Russia, when you have woke ideologues who are perfectly willing to destroy America from the inside?

Nuance. It’s the word du jour among many professing evangelicals today. But what does the word “nuance” mean, and how does that meaning influence and impact us as evangelicals regarding how we understand and interpret the Word of God? Listen as Darrell and Virgil (Omaha) look to the Scriptures for answers to the question: “A Nuanced Gospel?”

"Almost the Real Thing: How Progressive Christianity is Hijacking the Gospel."

In this podcast, Hillary and Amy address the subject of linguistic theft because this is something that is taking our kids (and us) captive. In addition to teaching our kids Scripture, we need to be sure that we’ve all got our definitions biblically correct.
